Ali Rıza Yıldırım was born in Hafik, Sivas in 1957, and moved to Samsun in 19. He graduated from elementary and middle school in Samsun.

He started working for the family business in 1970. He has performed sales and marketing operations as sales director, the deputy director-general and the director-general respectively after he had performed his military service.

After the reconstructing of the company in 1994, he started serving as the Chairman of the Board at YILDIRIM Group of Companies. Currently, he holds the chairman position at YILDIRIM Holding Inc. and is responsible for the domestic market operations and financial affairs

Ali Rıza Yıldırım is married and has two children.

Robert Yüksel YILDIRIM

Robert Yuksel Yildirim is the President and CEO of Yildirim Group of Companies. He was born in Sivas, Turkey in 1960. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1983. In 1989, he received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University. He began his career as a design and project engineer at Paceco Corporation, working for five years at the container crane manufacturing firm.

Robert Yuksel Yildirim joined the management board of the family-owned company in 1993. The same year, he conducted the first international achievement of the company, directly importing coal from Russia. Robert Yuksel Yildirim led the group in new initiatives in the 2000s, and in 2008, the Group made its first international acquisition in Sweden.

Today, Yildirim Group is a global player in metals and mining, port management, coal and coke, fertilizers and chemicals, energy, and maritime industry. Lloyd’s List ranks Robert Yuksel Yildirim among the top 100 most influential people in the shipping industry, and among top 10 most powerful people in container terminals industry. Consulting company Drewry lists him as one of the top 20 global leaders in port operations. Robert Yuksel Yildirim is also among the top three leaders of the global chromium industry.

Özer Öz

Ozer Oz was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1972. He received his bachelor’s degree in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1992. In 1995, he was awarded a master’s degree in finance from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.

Mr. Oz is the Chief Operating Officer at Yildirim Group of Companies. He oversees general coordination of Group companies and acquisitions. He has participated in more than 25 privatization tenders and privately owned asset sales. His responsibilities at Yildirim Group also include supervising new business initiatives in mining, petrochemicals, logistics, and real estate development.

During his tenure at Yildirim Group, he was appointed as general coordinators of Gemlik Gubre, the largest calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) fertilizer producer; Eti Krom, the largest chromium mine and ferrochrome producer in Turkey; and Yilport Gebze, a multi-purpose port terminal located in the Gulf of Izmit, Turkey.

Ozer Oz has deep experience in organizational, operational, and financial rehabilitation of privatized entities. His strong professional network covers the business world and governmental authorities within the Black Sea region, specifically in Turkey, Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan. He is experienced in infrastructural and bureaucratic processes for greenfield investments. Prior to his duties at Yildirim Group, Mr. Oz was the general manager of ISBAS, the first privately owned free zone in Istanbul, Turkey; and he was a shareholder and the general manager of KOSBAS in Kocaeli, Turkey, the only free zone where shipyards were allowed to operate.

In addition to his duties at YILDIRIM Group, Mr. Oz is the Chairman of Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Turkey-Ecuador Business Council.

Ozer Oz is married and has two children.

Dr. Evren Öztürk

Evren Öztürk was born in 1981 in Istanbul, Turkey. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Marmara University on Business Administration, he was awarded three master’s degrees from Marmara University, Yildiz Technical University and Gebze Institute of Technology; respectively in Financial Markets and Investment Management, Economics, and Strategy Science. Evren Öztürk completed his doctoral studies in Finance and Accounting at Marmara University to receive his Ph.D.

Dr. Öztürk started his career in 2002 at Reel Çözüm Factoring Inc. as the Finance and Funding Manager, followed by his tenure as the Corporate Finance Director at BDO Denet Accounting and Consulting Inc.

Evren Öztürk joined Yildirim Group in 2005. He undertook various responsibilities that ensured continuous growth and strong financial structuring for the Group, accumulating more than 25 acquisitions and mergers projects in a global scope.

Dr. Öztürk is currently the Chief Financial Officer and the Board Member of Yildirim Group. He also acts as board members of CMA CGM Group in France, Sealease S.A. in Belgium, and Vargön Alloys AB in Sweden.

Dr. Öztürk is married and has two children.

Mustafa Kemal Erkanat

Mustafa Erkanat was born in Samsun in 1962. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree from Istanbul Technical University on Aerospace Engineering in 1983.

He moved to the United States in 1984, where he worked for Foodmaker Inc. at various managerial positions until 2005.

He joined YILDIRIM Group of Companies in 2005 as the General Coordinator. He is currently the Chief Administrative Officer of YILDIRIM Group of Companies.

Mustafa Erkanat is married and has two children.


He has more than 10 years of experience in various leading Turkish holding companies and financial institutions, including Yildiz Holding (Ulker, Godiva) and Garanti Bank.

Dr. Alp Malazgirt

Dr. Alp Malazgirt is the Yilmaden Holding CEO, Metals and Mining division of the parent Yildirim Group of Companies,  based in Istanbul, Turkey, a rising star amongst the Turkish industrial conglomerates. Active in  9 sectors Yildirim Group is fast becoming a global company with its holdings and assets spanning over some 20+countries.

Dr. Malazgirt’s tenure at Yildirim coincided with the expansion of its metals and mining business in two countries, Turkey (Eti Krom) and Sweden (Vargon Alloys) to seven countries: Voskhod Oriel chrome mining operations in Kazakhstan, Tikhvin Ferroalloy Plant in Russia, Bear Metallurgical Company in Butler, USA, and the recently acquired Best Coal Company in Colombia. Yilmaden Holding is now the world’s second largest high quality high carbon ferrochrome producer in the world. Yilkrom, another Yilmaden company owns both exploration and production licenses in Turkey which are currently being explored. Dr. Malazgirt has played a key role in the post-merger integration of these cross border acquisitions and has been instrumental in the transformational changes undertaken in these otherwise poorly performing or even bankrupt companies.

Prior to joining Yildirim Holding and relocating to Istanbul, Turkey, Dr. Alp Malazgirt lived in Korea where he was an Associate Dean and Associate Professor of business management and worked as a consultant on many high tech projects related to metals and mining. Perhaps most importantly, he was instrumental in the development and commercialization of a few mineral processing projects including extraction of lithium from seawater, which later the technology rights were sold to POSCO, and underwater manganese nodule leaching.

Prior to his tenure in the Far East, he was in the USA and had a distinguished career in the Silicon Valley with two silicon chip manufacturing companies. His last position was the Vice President of Global Operations. After his 18 years in the high tech field, he started a solar photovoltaic panel company and later was the founding member of two service company ventures which are still going strong in California. He has more than 25 years of commercial experience working in the high-tech and management fields and is the recipient of many awards.

Dr. Malazgirt has a BS degree in metallurgical engineering from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and an MS from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Ph. D. in Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, California, USA. He is the recipient of three patents and has published in excess of 20 technical articles and made more than 50 presentations at international venues.
